Doctor Who Rumor

Yes, sadly still just a rumor but an interesting one.
"According to columnist Rich Johnston at Comic Book Resources, Neil Gaiman has already been asked by forthcoming Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat to write an episode of the show in 2010."
Oh and yesterday was my last day of college. Now to await my results and graduation :)

Today I get to print, bind it and then submit it.
On another topic, it looks like I'll be receiving another royalties cheque from Lucasfilm for The Death of Jar Jar :D

So for my college project, one of the REQUIRED documents I have to produce is a project plan in the form of a gantt chart (it lists all the tasks that have to be done, gives them start/finish dates and what order they should be done in). I did that no problem.
I'm supposed to submit all the documentation to this guy to review, it's his job and I'm not the only person who sends him stuff. You would think because of that he would actually have the correct software (Microsoft Project) installed.
But no, he emails me and tells me that he doesn't and if I could send it in PDF format. I copy/paste the table of tasks into OpenOffice and export that to PDF. Not good enough, he wants the chart.
So after reading up on how do convert a project file to PDF, I've done it...and it's horrible, a mess of bits of table and chart spread across 18 pages. There's probably a way to make it look good but I don't have time to mess around with it.
I wish I could say it's the first time this guy has been difficult. I'll send him the PDF when I've calmed down a bit, so I can resist the temptation to tell him he's an idiot.

Publicity

My college wants to use me for publicity, they asked for a photo and anything they could use as examples of my achievements.
So I've taken some high quality photos of the book that Consanguinity was featured in and also sent a link to this podcast.
This is the first time (yeah I know, it's only taken 2 and a half years) I've put some decent quality images of the book online, so if anyone wants to have a look, here's a link.

The Death of Jar Jar
Apr. 30th, 2007 | 09:35 pm
I've probably posted this before but I'm doing so again, I'm hoping to attract as much attention as possible to this video.
YouTube
Quicktime - available from my site, follow the link, right click, save as to download.
Stage6 - High quality, also downloadable.
In other news, today I handed in my last two assignments...ever. Just two more exams to go and then the project after the summer but that's it. I hope :)

This week, I've mostly been learning to use an obscure programming language/tool called Aion BRE for an assignment. I seem to have finished it and just have the writing to do over the weekend, not bad at all :)
I also won a copy of the DivX Author tool (worth $40) by being one of the first 500 submissions into the Divx Film Festival. Apparently they forgot to send it to me until today, now I'm planning to use it for high quality editions of my older videos...starting with Star Wars: Falling into Darkness and Star Wars: The Darkness Consumes :)

We were supposed to get either our exam results or our assignments back today (or possibly both). Instead we were told the examiners have delayed releasing either until the end of March.
It would be nice to have at least SOME idea of how well I'm doing, I know my classmates feel the same.

music: Star Trek 6 soundtrack - Assassination
Today I started on the Knowledge Systems unit at college. It's interesting so far, although the video we had to watch was a little out of date (we guessed around 1985). I suppose some of the concepts are still true for today but still...they could have produced a more up to date video.
X-Com came up too while we were playing with some software that classified types of animals. We weren't sure what an anthropod was, so a quick online search revealed: Anthropods.
Whoever coded the database apparently mispelled arthropod. Oops :)
EDIT: A quote from the book I'm reading:
"Our president doesn't enjoy our full confidence. Would you remove him for us?"
I thought you'd never ask. "How permanent?"
"Totally."

I've had exams this last week. The first one was IDENTICAL to the sample paper we were given a few weeks before. It was a little odd but amusing at the same time.
The second exam wasn't the same as the sample but it was easier so that's not too bad.
And now for a meme from

I haven't posted for awhile, mostly I've been working on my new series, it's coming on really well and I hope to have the first episode released soon. I've enjoyed working on it but I'll be glad when it's finished, so then I can do it all again nine more times!
In order to generate interest in the project, I've created four postcard (posters are too big to transport more than a handful) designs which I plan to give out to people at the Machinima Festival next month. By the way, if anyone is in New York on the 5th and 6th of November, come to the festival too!
Back to the postcards, I've uploaded the designs to my gallery :)
In other news, my monitor was dying. Fortunately I was able to get a replacement, a very nice 19" flatscreen. Picture.
College is going well, although there's a lot more reading to do now. However it's mostly interesting (although I wouldn't mind a better book for E-Commerce) and I like my classmates.

Today at college, I was nominated as Course Rep. This means, if people have complaints or problems, they come to me and I have to help them sort it out and bring it to the attention of College staff.
Meh, one of the characters left Spooks today, she's been around for ages and so it's sad to see her leave :(

Today is the first day of college. It just occured to me that I have no idea which room it will be in (luckily I know the building). I will try the same room from before, it seems like a safe bet, otherwise I'll have to go exploring.
I'm hoping to see some old friends there and make a few new ones.
I also...really...really...hope that annoying girl doesn't come back.
And I just had an email to notify me that my mindmap has been updated.
It seems a bit off with it's accuracy this time.
Now to finish getting ready.

I'm going back to college!
I went to see John Curry, the head of the computer department today. He told me they have so many people signed up for the course, they've had to turn others away.
Fortunately, I was one of the first to apply, so I'm in!
For those who are wondering, last year the final part of the course leading to a degree was cancelled. Too many people were addicted to World of Warcraft and didn't finish everything leading upto the last two years, so they couldn't continue.

I spend 3 years in college getting and HND, I am registered with the Open University to turn that HND into a BSc Degree...
And what do I use it for?
Hacking a Star Wars game demo because I think Lucasarts didn't put enough content in. So now there are 5 planets to conquer, more units to build and the AI works on the galactic map. It's not exactly perfect but it gives me a better idea of the full game.
On an unrelated note, why do I feel hungry almost all the time?
