Star Trek
So I saw the new Star Trek film on Thursday, it was very good but not quite my favourite.

The new cast members were great, especially Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Some of the science was a bit odd. A supernova that threatens the galaxy? But that is just a minor issue. I'm curious what the long term effects of Vulcan being destroyed are, in the previous timeline, it was one of the most important worlds in the Federation.

Here's hoping for a sequel.

Now I'm off to London for a Firstones.com meet up to see it again, this time at an imax cinema ;)

me I just want more of Chekov and his adorable over the top accent.

I was pretty impressed. Coming in I was just expecting to be like "oh yeah, it was alright, I was entertained anyway..." but I actually got quite a few good laughs and the plot was kind of better than I expected too. I would certainly watch a sequel if they made one

They already are making one apparently. My bf told me filming has already started...though I wonder where he heard that from.

I don't think they're filming it just yet but it's certainly in preproduction ;)

He's in the new Terminator movie too ;)

And I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, I wasn't really expecting much either :)

Teehee, he was very adorable! I think Bones did an awesome as well at being very similar to the original. I thought the 'alternate reality' senario was a pretty clever way out of being stuck with a story everyone expects.

I'll be adding it to my collection, and jason's making plans to see it again :P

I was tempted to see it again, it's too fresh in my mind though, maybe next week.

Bones was great, Karl Urban had apparently finished watching through the original series with his son not long before being offered the part :)

I saw it last night! I'm surprised at how much of it I got, not being a trekkie. I really liked it, which surprised me too!
