It's not over!

Jun. 22nd, 2011 | 04:17 am

Today marks the end of the first season and a year of work to create it. But that is not the end of the story. Season two will soon begin production and while it is too early to predict how long that will take, it is coming.

What can you do in the mean time? Spread the word about the show, get your friends watching, so when Uprising begins, they'll be all set.

And if you can't wait for more Chronicles of Humanity, more comics are on their way. And maybe even a special or two.

It's far from over!

Chronicles of Humanity episode 7!

Jun. 18th, 2011 | 12:49 pm
mood: accomplishedaccomplished

For those who haven't seen it yet, episode 7!

There's only one more episode left this season, I'm very excited to show it off. No one has done anything quite like it in Moviestorm, infact, when I've hinted at what I was doing to some fellow Moviestorm users, they told me I was nuts.

That's probably true but I did it anyway!

Chronicles of Humanity Launch!

Apr. 29th, 2011 | 05:03 am
mood: accomplishedaccomplished

It's been awhile since I've updated this again, so I have quite a few things to write about but as before, I'll spread them out over a few posts.

The big news first!

I have completed and launched Chronicles of Humanity, now made entirely with Moviestorm!

Things kicked off on monday night at IndyTheater where the first episode was premiered online. Got a big turn out, it was great to see everyone there!

Then on tuesday, another premiere. This time in Bath, for the whole series. At a cinema. It was so good to see something I'd made that way. Sure, I've seen my work on big screens before at conventions and such but this was different and I've very glad I did it.

Afterwards, it was time to make episode one available for general viewing, so far it's been getting quite a few hits and good comments.

And here it is:

42 Days

Mar. 28th, 2011 | 01:42 am

Time for another update.

A few weeks back I discovered the Celebrate the Web contest, the idea is to create a pilot episode for a webseries, they give you a few things that must be included and you have seven days to do it.

So I signed up, with fellow teammates Jemma and Leanne.

Didn't hear anything for awhile, forgot about it.

Then I got the email, your seven days starts now.

We came up with a storyline involving a girl from the future who couldn't remember why and had a bit of a mad rush to figure out the details and how we were going to make it.

In the end we did all of our filming in about three-four hours, then I brought the footage home for editing. There are also two short machinima segments, created in Moviestorm to represent our virtual world. That was tricky because I wanted it to look virtual but not in the same sense that Tron did.

With more time, there are a few things I'd go back and adjust but unfortunately, we wouldn't have made the deadline. Still, quite pleased to have made something so quickly.

Ultimately, 13 pilots were submitted and all of them are being screened at the ACME Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles this coming tuesday. This must be the first time I can say any of my work has had a Hollywood screening :D

Been awhile

Mar. 25th, 2011 | 02:10 am

I haven't posted anything here for ages, so it's about time that I did. Actually, I'm going to break down what I've been upto into several posts, to spread things out a bit.

So the big thing is Chronicles of Humanity is complete and if you've not seen the trailer already, you can find it here.

That's just a temporary site for now, there will be a relaunch early next month with episodes coming soon after.

In addition to that, I have created a prologue comic which sets the stage for the series. I'll be posting that online between the site going live and the first episode. It was a rather fun experience so I expect I'll produce more comics as time goes on.

And finally, I have a professional looking DVD of the series AND I had the comic printed at Lulu, which arrived today. Very excited by all this and looking forward to sharing it soon.

Doctor Who Experience

Feb. 21st, 2011 | 07:22 pm
mood: geekygeeky

Last thursday I went to one of the preview days for the Doctor Who Experience in London.

It's basically a Doctor Who themed museum, lots of props and costumes on display, just like the one in Cardiff. Only this time, much bigger and more to see.

Not only that but there's also a Doctor Who adventure you walk through, which has specially filmed video of Matt Smith as The Doctor. You get attacked by Daleks, Weeping Angels and get to go inside the Tardis. No photos were allowed in that part, so I didn't take any but I have plenty of the props and such.

The real highlight has to be seeing the actual Tardis set from the RTD years. They didn't destroy it afterall!

Meme Time!

Jan. 21st, 2011 | 03:55 am

This meme stolen from [info]barbiejedi.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot.
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession

I filled it out in reverse order, putting what I want to say most at 1.

At last!

Jan. 20th, 2011 | 10:32 pm
mood: accomplishedaccomplished

Since this is my first post of the year, I think I'll make it a good one and reveal what I've been working on quietly for the last 12 months or so.

Chronicles of Humanity has been reworked so that it is now entirely made with Moviestorm.

After being really pleased with the way Alone turned out, it seemed only right to move away from The Sims 2. Originally I was going to jump into season two but quickly realised that I should really go back and tell the story properly from the beginning. Now it is almost complete and there's a trailer here on the site.

That's not the only change. I'll be releasing the series under Coded Transmission Studios rather than Bathtub Productions. It felt like it was time to do something different.

Bathtub Productions is still going to exist and it's where all of my previous work can be found.

Enjoy the trailer. Feedback welcome!
